IEEE computer society

IEEE Computer Society is the world’s most important association for computing. IEEE Computer Society carried out its mission through organizing conferences, publishing journals, development of standards, organization of programs for professional development, certification and implementation of other activities. IEEE Computer Society members are students, professionals.

IEEE Computer Society students and professionals provides advanced training, professional development, gaining certificates and standards for professional use.

IEEE Computer Society represents world’s leading computing organization, as well as a source of information and resources for career specialization of technology leaders such as teachers, researchers, software engineers, IT professionals, employers and students – future technology leaders.

President of the IEEE Computer Society for 2014. year is  Prof. PhD. Dejan Milojičić.

Dejan Milojičić

Dejan Milojičić is a lead researcher and manager of the “HP Laboratories” in Palo Alto, California, where he is engaged in research in the field of system software, distributed systems, high-performance computing and service management. He is a president of the Association of Computer Science at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering IEEE. He was the founder and first editor in chief of “IEEE – Computer today” (2008-2012) and head of the Technical Committee for Operating Systems (2000).

He is a lecturer in course of Cloud Management (Computing management in the clouds) at San Jose State University in California. He is a reviewer for six doctorates (gatech, UIUC, Monash, USP) and mentor to larger number of students (more than 40). He has published more than 130 papers in conferences and journals, he has published two books, he has 12 approved and 25 applied patents.

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Kaiserslautern (1993), master’s degree and graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade (1996 and 1993). He was employed at the Institute “Mihajlo Pupin” in Belgrade (1983-1991), OSF Research Institute, Cambridge, MA (1994-1998) and since 1998. He was employed in “HP Laboratories.”

He organized many conferences of association: ACM, IEEE and USENIX (ICDCS, cloud, ICWS, EDOC, AAMAS, ICAC, Middleware, HotCloud, IC2E, etc..). He is the editor of number of magazines (currently: IEEE Internet Computing and IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing). He is a member of societies: IEEE CS, ACM, and USENIX over more than 20 years.

IEEE Chapter Computer Science (CO-16) was established on 20 in December 2000. year. IEEE Chapter Computer Science (CO-16), in cooperation with the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Faculty of Organizational Sciences is organizing a seminar Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.
